She settled into the white limo that had pulled up as they'd all exited the hotel, her brow flicking upwards. White? Man when Richie did something he went whole hog.
The jittering of her nerves increased as he slid in beside her, Jon and Geena taking control of the facing seat. She was about to get married! She'd sworn to never do that again after the fiasco called Jared, but Richie had been so wonderful and so persuasive.
As they settled into their seats she pulled a pad and pen from her pocketbook, bent her head and started to write furiously. In all his arguments to wed so soon he'd not considered all the things that came with being married to him, but as the night grew late she had.
She wanted NO ONE thinking she was marrying him for anything but love, hence the pad and pen and the words she was puttign to paper.
March 7, 2010
I, Sabrina Grace Douglas, being of sound mind and body do hereby and forever refuse any and all monies now or earned in future, or properties owned by Richard Stephen Sambora.
I have no interest in knowing exactly what he is worth or what he owns, it simply doesn't interst me. I am marrying the man, not his financial portfolio;
This is being written with no legal representation, I don't need any. I am in full possession of my good sense. Love is about the heart, not the financial. All that he has is his to do with as he wishes. There is no coercion involved. As a matter of fact my lovely husband to be hasn't even thought of this. I am quiet sure. This agreement I am penning is of my own free will. What's mine ((such as it is)) Shall forever be his if he so needs it, what he has is his to do with as he wishes; and
I acknowlege that this agreement is fair, and represents my intentions to stay married to Mr. Sambora until the end of time. However, he retains all rights to dispense with his properties, earnings and all other assets pre-marriage or post-marriage as he sees fit........
Richie gazed out the window , he was getting married again. Crazy he knew but she was the one and if he didn't do it now he risked losing her. This time was gonna be different. His ma might be upset with him, but he had done the fancy wedding and look where it got him. A fresh start doing things different it was bound to work .
He glanced over, his brow furrowing. What is she writing ? She looks so serious. I hope it aint her will or something. He chuckled to himself. God, she the most beautiful creature inside and out, he'd ever known. Oh sure, Heather and the others were gorgeous but this girl had inner beauty that outshown the rest. He knew this time he had hit it big and he wasn't gonna screw it up no matter what.
Jon glanced over at Richie. Fuck if he didnt have the happiest grin on his face, to Bri, who looked like she was writing a novel over to Geena. Thank god she seemed ok for now. The greenish tinge had been replaced with a lil pallor, but he put that down to nerves. He leaned in to his wife to be and whispered, "Hey Geena babe, what the fuck is she doing?"
"I'm not sure." Geena leaned up to take a peek. "Oh it looks like-- I didn't think 'bout that, " she muttered lowly.
He blinked quickly, as he glanced back at Bri then to Geena again. "Looks like what?"
"I could be wrong but it looks like a prenup Sabrina Douglas style."
Shit. he hadn't even thought of that one. Dot had married him and he hadn't thought of it either. Love had you blind to most things, and when they had finally called a halt to the marriage, he'd been more than fair and she'd been more than decent. And amazingly the only logical one here had been the woman who had every reason to not sign one. "Why would she do something like that?"
"Because she probably doesn't want the world to think she was a gold digger -- some fan out of the blue he marries. People will talk, she wants to make sure they all know its for love and not for money. "
He turned to watch Bri. It was like seeing her for the first time. She'd went out on a limb, leaving Richie to keep him safe. She'd planned fuckin' murder for the same thing, and now? She was penning her own prenup? Fuckhead had gotten lucky, hell maybe he had too, Geena was made of the same cloth as her friend. "Well I be damned."
"What? Surprise you? That she loves him that much?" Geena questioned him with a smile. Sometimes the funniest things coud surprise Jon Bongiovi.
"That she would think of it." He leaned forward and punched Richie's shoulder. "Lucky fucker."
"Yea I could have told ya that, " Richie smirked.
Geena shot a Jon a look of disappointment. Yea Richie was lucky and so was Bri, at least she was getting married for love and not because she had too. She willed herself not to cry as she gazed out the window. This was her wedding day and she should be happy; after all she was marrying the most sought after man on this planet but somehow didn't ease her sadness.
Jon glanced at Geena, the look of sadness filtering into her eyes pulling him up short. God, he hated that look in a woman's eyes. "Course you're lucky, you're marrying into MY family man, cuz I got the best." He leaned back. Maybe it was the wrong time, and maybe it wasn't how he planned, but he knew Geena loved him. Hell if he was honest with himself he loved her right back. "If it weren't for me and Geena you woulda never met the wench."
Richie nodded then glanced at Geena. She seemed so sad and that bothered him. He hoped his bro would come to his senses soon, before he lost this wonderful girl. " You're a lucky guy too man. " He glanced back over to Bri who was stll huddled over scribbling away and smiled . Yes he was damn lucky and for once he was gonna do things right.
She stopped writing, her eyes scanning over every word and nodded. It wasn't professional like a lawyer would word it, but it was extremely clear. She wanted no money from him, everything of his should go to his child or children should he have more with her. All she wanted was the man and his love, and that she had in abundance.
Straightening she scrawled her name at the bottom, dated it and handed it to Richie. "Wedding present of a sorts."
Richie took it. "What's this?" He gazed over it, a look of surprise on his face. It left him speechless for a second. "You didn't have to do this baby. "
"Yeah I did Rich."
"Are you sure cuz it don't matter to me," Richie stated before scribbling his name underneath hers.
She leaned across the seat, her lips pressing lightly to his cheek. "Don't need any of it, just need you."
Richie smiled and with his free hand grasped hers and squeezed. I thought I couldn't love her any deeper and she just proved again how I can find a way. "Thanks baby. "
She glanced over at Jon, his words a few minutes before winging through her brain. "You're just as fuckin' lucky. And a new baby? Something fresh and wonderful to love you? Someone who will think you fuckin' perfect? YOU are FUCKIN' lucky man."
Jon glanced up suddenly and smiled. "Don't have to tell me that. I already know it."
Geena flashed Bri a grateful look then glanced at Jon, searching his face to see if he meant it. God how she loved him and hoped in time he would feel the same, she was sure he loved her but not enough to marry for love.
The jitters returned as the car stopped in front of a little building on the outskirts of town. It wasn't Vegas flashy, as a matter of fact it seemed almost chapel like. She shivered as the door opened, his hand reaching in to help her out and suddenly felt nerves like she'd never felt before. Swallowing hard to knock the nausea down, and placing a smile on her lips she departed the limo, turning to watch Jon and Geena as they exited the car. "Well here goes.."
Geena willed her nerves to behave for a little while as she took Jon's arm and followed Richie and Bri inside. She heard a squeal and rushed to see what it was, her eyes lighting up to find Carly standing there beside David. She joined Bri and rushed their friend taking turns hugging her . It had seemed like years since they had seen her .
Richie smiled, watching the girls interact. He had known they were close but seeing this sweet display reminded him that they were as close as he was with his brothers.
Carly laughed as she was swarmed gutter style, her glance moving to David in thanks for getting her here. "Gosh can't leave you two alone for a second. Getting married? Babies?? I knew they were lethal but damn."
Geena laughed. "See what happens when you leave us alone? We get into trouble, now I'm gonna need you more than ever. Hey do you have a cure for this dreaded puking? "
Carly laughed, "Kicking him doesn't work huh?" She glanced at Jon, "Hot tea and saltines, first thing. And get the doctor to order something mild nausea."
She turned to Bri and winked. "Gotta admit Sambora is much more preferable than that last name ya been carrying for years. Guy's a lot cuter too."
"Na kicking makes him more grouchier, noted on the mild nausea otherwise no wedding night, " Geena grinned.
Jon stepped up behind Geena and coughed, "Oh yeah there will, I will have my woman on our wedding night." He glanced at David and winked. Fuck if he didnt look happier than Richie.
Carly arched an eyebrow. "A bit bossy aren't ya there buddy. You be nice to her. She has a lot of hard work ahead of her." The nurse in her came out full force causing David to snicker .
Jon's hand's lifted, "Mercy, dont want the nurse on me. She knows how to weild a needle."
Bri laughed as an older woman stepped into the waiting area. "Sambora Bongiovi?"
She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, her hand sliding into Richie's as she tightened her grasp. "Oh lord."
"Lets do it baby. " Richie led her inside the chapel and stood in front of the justice of the peace. He glanced over smiling at how her love shown brightly from her eyes. "Ready do to this? "
She nodded then turned to watch the young man step up to a tiny stand. He started talking about committment and love, and all the things a man and woman should mean to each other, and with each word she felt her heart expand and the tears flow. With the final whispered words she heard Richie say quite vehemently his "I do's", her own soft and whispery next to his.
As the minster said "You can kiss the bride," she felt his arms grab for her, her back bend and experienced the hottest kiss she'd ever felt from him before.
"Goooo Swingman!" David crowed as Richie kept up with the kiss. "You can stop now, you can do more later, another wedding man."
Richie broke away reluctantly "Yea thats right, its the Kidd's turn. Later baby once we get to Denver you're mine. " He waggled his eyebrows and got the responding giggle he was going for.
Her laughter made its way from her as her brows waggled. "Thought I was already."
"You are but later you're M I N E. " He spelled the word for emphasis, his tone dark with intent. She was his, forever and no fuckin' body would take that away.
She nodded and smiled as he tugged her into his chest, her eyes going to watch Jon and Geena take their places in front of the little stand. Geena seemed a bit shaky, but it was Jon her eyes were stuck too. From nowhere a smile had sprang to his face as his eyes darkened to deep pools of sapphire. Well, well for all his seeming reticience he was showing his feelings, and he seemed to be quite happy with what was happening. Maybe things would be ok after all.
Geena was lost in his eyes as the preacher spoke of vows. She could scarcely recall saying her I do's or the vows of love and honor til death do they parted. When he slipped the ring on her finger she gasped. It was gorgeous, not a huge rock, but she was never that kinda of girl .
He felt the oddest sensation as he spoke the words, his eyes intent upon hers as he slid the ring on her finger before lifting it to his lips and pressing in. Kissing her finger, then palm he couldn't stop the smile. Maybe it had happened in a backwards way, but it felt suddenly right. Pulling her closer, his lips moved to hers in a slow easy kiss.
Her arms slid around his neck as she melted into the kiss. He could deny all he wanted in all other ways, but his actions always showed her his true feelings
David put his fingers to his lip and offered up a wolf whistle as Teek grinned and thumped shoulders. Carly moved to her two best friends to offer hugs. "Well, who woulda thunk it when ya started the forum?"
