Chapter 41

Bri locked arms with her friends, one on each side of her as they enjoyed the opening act. They were already dancing and the boys hadn't even reached the stage yet, the opening act wasn’t half bad. She tossed her hair to the side and laughed as they did the bump and grind, clapped and generally enjoyed the preliminaries to the evening. Somehow they had all ended up back in the suite to get ready, laughing, giggling, filling each other in on the day’s happenings.

When Carly described all she and David had managed to do in a few short hours; they had laughed riotously. Seems the man really was the funny man of the bunch, and when she'd quietly told them how Richie had handled the phone calls with Jared, they had raised their fists and called out a Goooo Richie!"

Geena had finally fallen on the bed rolling in laughter as she recounted the moments with the white toast comment. "Had anyone else said that I wouldn’t have believed it."

Yep, it had been a fun hour or so, then the door had started rumbling with the sounds of palms upon wood, and in turn each girl had been picked up to ride to the arena with the man of her dreams.

She yanked herself from reflection as the lights went dark and the sounds of thousands suddenly lifted in some version of wild screech, and when Blood on Blood's intro started she squealed. "G! It's BoB!".

Geena's calm demeanor turned to fan girl the moment Jon hit the stage and started to hit Bri and Carly simultaneously "They listened!" Oh my God he did Listen? Her gaze centered on Jon as the disbelief flowed through her. Had he listened or was he just doing this to get a blow job? HE wouldn’t just do a song for his own satisfaction, he wasn’t like that. Was he?

Carly danced and sang along with her friends, enjoying the new songs that mixed so well with the old, but although he was hidden behind the men in front, her eyes were on David. He'd glance out at the audience, a little frown forming at times and she wondered what the problem was, until his eyes settled on her. It was then his smile came out to play and he started dancing along to the music, bobbing and weaving and even offering up a wink or two. "Oh God he’s just so awesome.."

"Yes he is "Bri and Geena replied but directing their comments to their respective object of desire .

It wasn't until the strains of Roulette started that Bri really took a look Jon's way, and he was glancing down to her right, where Geena had gone totally still. Her brow arched as her boogie started back up, her elbow connecting with Geena. "Just gonna Stand there?" She hoped G could hear her, the fucking crowd had chosen that exact moment to roar.

"Oh god, I'm so in trouble, " Geena breathed out on a whimper. She thought he had been kidding around. Sure Blood was an oldie; that was all she thought they would do, but when the first cords hit her tummy started to feel as if a million butterflies had taken wing . He really did it. Now I have to pay up, not that was a bad thing. She had honestly figured he’d shrug off what she’d said, but with that one song it was obvious he hadn’t, and her trouble, hell her FUN had just ramped up a notch.

The songs flowed from one into the other, seamless and almost perfect. Jon kept playing with his ears, obviously the ear pieces hadn't been fixed, but each time a total oldie started Geena's eyes had gone wider. She glanced at Carly a question in her gaze only to receive a shrug in response. Was the idea of Jon's payback worrying her friend? She wasn't sure, she'd find out soon enough though.

And when Diamond Ring bled into Make a Memory she put a hand over her heart.

Geena swallowed hard; Diamond Ring was the last straw if any song could get her it was that one . She couldn't break away from Jon if she tried. This wasn't good, this was more than just in awe, it was something she shouldn't be feeling not now not ever. Why she always had to wear her heart on her sleeve was beyond her. She tried to be tough but her eyes and body language always gave her away.

Bri trembled as both men shared the mic. Those two songs together, songs of memories and promises to come always managed to bring a tear to her eye. She took a deep breath and glanced at Geena, the obvious emotion in her gaze screaming of attachments she wasn't prepared to feel. Tugging both friends in closer, their heads tilted to rest against each other. "Shoulda known they'd be trouble."

"Amen to that sistah," Geena said with voice chock full of emotion.

Richie had glanced down and smiled. Watching these girls was fun, but it was Bri that caught his attention, from the excitement of the first song, to her rather sexy dancing, but it was the look on her face now that almost had him stopping his strumming. Love? No it couldn’t be that. It was way too soon for that emotion. There was something about her he just wanted to take care of and protect though. He hadn’t felt that about a woman in forever. He winked at her as they continued on with Diamond Ring then Make A Memory. His eyes never straying to far from her.

Thousands of women in the arena, many of them calling his name alone and his eyes were firmly on the one tiny woman that had made him remember what being a guy was all about.
Jon grinned as Geena went still with each oldie he pulled out, with each wink and half grin he threw her way. She was something else, his little Jovi mistress that was for sure. As his eyes scanned the arena and the intro to Tokyo came up he had to admit the crowd’s joy at the older songs were there. The girls had been right. He could admit that, more than that, he felt the energy he hadn't felt in years. Maybe just maybe he'd taken the first steps into rediscovering that lost part of himself. It was just the first night of tour, but it was a good first night, and she'd been there in the pit, enjoying every second of it.

The guys were in the last few notes of Prayer when one of their security guards came to escort the girls backstage. Winding through the pit they made it to the all access area that was forbidden to all without the piece of plastic around their necks. Each girl smiled big as they continued down the long all way to a room marked dressing room. The tech showed them in and told them make themselves comfortable while the guys finished washing the stage from their bodies.

Bri glanced around the room and snorted. “Wow such luxurious digs." She shook her head at the bare cinder block styled walls, and various pieces of what could only be described as doctor office chic furniture. Walking over to a couch she plopped down, her feet moving up to prop on the end of the couch's arm. "Soooo comfortable."

Geena laughed "Oh yea check this chair out," as she sat down in a metal folding chair wiggling slightly just to get the creaks and squeaks from the metal.

Carly giggled and sat down on a chair that when she moved actually seemed to rock thanks to one leg being shorter than the other three. "This is the life!"

"Definitely not what we pictured when writing our fics eh girls," Geena said with amusement.
Bri started to laugh, her head falling back, "We don't often write about backstage, just the hotel AFTER!"

"So true, but you know, I can so picture this. Sex on a metal chair oh yea , that could be a short story. The girl legs spread as "fave guy" is over them ready to enter her with such passion, " Geena rambled on a few moment’s setting a scene as the other two girls laughed and added in bits and bobs to the quickie story.

Bri's breath caught, "Oh damp and sexy boy comes in to bend said girl over rickety old couch. Come to think of it, that would be more a puppy story."

She started chuckling when a voice from behind her whispered against her hair. "Should I dare ask what a puppy is?"
