Chapter 32

"You'de think after the hot sex we just had he'd be in a better mood. "

She tilted her head, "Rich said something about some of the ear pieces not working right. Hopefully they'll get that worked out before the show."

"Oh shit if it don't then someone will be in some shit later."

Geena watched Jon and as pissy as he looked it just made him hotter to her . The way he demanded prefection was a turn on in a odd sort of way. She so could easily fall hard for him but that wasn't in the cards she knew that. This was the ultimate jovi girls fantasy and that is all it had to be.

Sabrina turned to watch Richie. It was a dream come true to be sitting here, in a place she'd never ever imagined she'd be. Sound check and then a concert? After all that had happened in her life she never ever thought she'd see one of their shows, and add into that the fact she'd met him, hell she'd had glorious sex with him, well that was icing on the cake. He'd even added the sprinkles to the icing in suggesting they get to know each other better. She knew it probably wouldn't happen, but the memory of those words coming from his lips?? She couldn't help but smile.

She glanced over at Geena a moment and started to giggle softly, she was as lost in watching Jon as she was Richie. Looking around the stadium, the fact that Carly hadn't shown finally hit her. Frowning she leaned in to Geena. "Have you seen Carly?"

Geena was startled out of her trance and glanced around til she spotted her. Pointing to a spot somewhere behind Dave she giggled. "Look ain't that cute? She is behind the keyboards."

She glanced around Jon and sure enough there was Carly, eyes all big with wonder as she watched David play. "Man she's got it worse than you."

"What do you mean? I ain’t got nothing other hot sex," Geena refuted adamantly.

She rolled her head and made a tsk tsk sound. "Gutter girls never lie to gutter...." her voice trailed off as her cell phone vibrated in her pocket. "Who the fuck would be calling me here?"

She pulled the phone out and flipped it open, and before she could get a word out heard a voice she didn't want to hear. Not here, not now.

"Where are you?"

Her eyes closed, her throat seized and she felt ice invade her bones. "I'm out with a friend." Her words were choked off and quiet, "Not that it's any of your business."

"It's always my business woman, you're my wife."

"Not anymore dammit. Not my fault you wouldn't sign the papers, not that it matters, it was finalized without you there." She stood suddenly and started walking towards the arena foyer. No need for everyone to overhear.

"You need to get your pretty little ass back home. Papers don’t mean shit. Your mine, always will be.Don't know where you ran off too, but you don't belong there. You know where you belong Sabrina. Best you be finding your way back."

His voice sent tendrils of dread rocketing through her, her body stiffening as the promise of dark dank places rose. "I'll come back when I'm ready Jared, not a moment sooner, not that I'd be coming back to you as it were. You don't own me, never did and never will," she spit the words out softly as she scanned the halls to find a place less conspicuous. "Stop calling me!"

"You ARE mine, you better not be off fucking some stud. I know how you are. It's why I've saved your spot. It's ready for you."

She pulled on the reserves she had and spat out, "Fuck off, I mean it. NO one is gonna ever do that to me again."

"I own you, body and soul Sabrina, never forget it. I won't."

She slammed the phone closed and sank to the floor, trying to gather in all the air she could. The fact he'd yet again found her number had her lungs seizing up. Even here in Paradise he'd found her, even here his darkness tried to turn Paradise to hell? Why wouldn't he just give up?

Geena watched her friend storm off and after catching just a bit of the conversation she knew it was the asshole. She started to get up when Richie, who had noticed Bri take off, headed Geena off before she could go after her friend .

"Geena , what's wrong with Bri? "

"I don't know if it's my place to say," Geena said biting her lip. She wanted to tell him but at the same time didn't want to break her friend's confidence.

He frowned at the sound of it. Hell he didn’t even like the look of it. From the moment Bri had picked up the phone she'd went white as a ghost. Settling himself in the chair he leaned in, "I just want to help her Darlin, she looked bad when she walked off. If I can help..."

"I don't know what to do .If I break her confidence she might not trust me again," Geena hesitated.

Richie sighed, she had a point, but he wanted to know Bri better, hell, he wanted her around, that meant he had to know more about her.

"Listen Geena, I don't want you to break a confidence, really I don't, but she looked upset, and I don't like a lady of mine upset. I haven’t learned much about her yet, but I plan too. You'll be helping her out right? If I understand what bothers her I can ease around it until she’s comfortable in telling me."

"You promise not to say anything? Let her tell you all of it. You gotta promise me that or I can't say," Geena implored.

Man, that sounded bad. What the hell could have happened to such a sweet thing like his angel? He leaned forward and nodded. "You got it Darlin. Now what would make an angel look like a ghost?"

"The phone call. It was her ex-husband, not that he admits to that. Hell, he refuses to accept the damn divorce is final. I doubt he ever will. He is a freak and asshole rolled into one and that’s being kind," Geena spat.

He growled softly at the idea of anyone abusing a woman in any way. "You telling me this jackass hit her?"

"Oh no, he never hit her. He was always the gentleman. What he did was worse than that, If that’s possible. "

He leaned in, getting nose to nose with her. "What's worse than a man taking things out on a woman Darlin?"

"Mental cruelty, trying to brainwash the life out of her," Geena bit out.

He leaned back, his eyes widening. "What the fuck? What the fuck he do? What the hell?"

"Yea her punishment for stupid shit, if she wasn’t Stepford enough? He would shut her in a closet. He thought it would make her meek and mild." Geena growled the anger she felt for this man if she had a gun she would shoot the bastard

he remembered that movie. Men trying to find the perfect wife by brainwashing and even finally turning women into robots. Jesus. He stood quickly, the clattering of the chair hitting the floor not even phasing him. "No one deserves that shit.”

He growled again and started off the way he'd seen Bri bolt too, then stopped and turned. "I'm gonna go get her." He watched the unsure look fade into Geena's eyes as she worried. "Don't worry, I told her we'd go out to eat, can't do that if she's lost right? I'm just hunting my date." His brows waggled as a mischievous grin slipped onto his lips. "Your secret is safe with me Geena."

"I hope so Rich , cause she is my best friend and I dont wanna lose her " Geena said quietly.

He nodded and turned, his long legged stride eating up the floor as he went in search of his angel. "Don't wanna lose her either."
